Whether we're geen, purple, or gold, God loves us all the same. So we all gather at JHYG to worship him as the father of all life and to make up one big Mardi Gras.

I think that everyone has their own talents that they can use to make the church what it is. Last week, many people decided to bring enthusiasm. I am one of those peaple. I became a fire. E had orange and red streamers all over me!

Mardi Gras Celebration
On the night of Mardi Gras, all of us JHYGers got together for a special celebration. It was family night, so we brought our parents along. We started off with a with a classic Mardi Gras dinner that made our mouths water. Then, we moved onto the main attraction of the night. The challenge was to divide into groups and make a parade float using the materials we were given. The catch was, it had to have a theme that went along with a Bible verse that we had just learned: Romans 12. To make a float, we had to work as a group, putting all of our skills together and contributing to the project. In the end, we had a big parade, showing all of our floats off and the work we had done to make them. All in all, we had a blast.

GOD IS ON THE MOVE....
There are some times in JHYG when I really feel like God is on the move in my life. One example of this is when we separate into small groups. To put it simply, these are a time when we can just talk about God and how He's at work in our lives. I enjoy it because it's mostly the only time I really get to go into depth about my relationship with Him.

JHYG Dinner. We come together and speak our minds, and have different discusions of many kinds. We talk about God, who's in our lives, as we eat our meal with forks and knives.
-Ian Behm and Jack Evans
God moves through JHYG by having people work together as a single body, neglecting the fact that we are all different - God brings us together.
-Ian Marchetto
God's in JHYG because when I come to JHYG, God moves through here. I get to see my friends. And I can't see them very often.

PENNSYLVANIA TABLE PROJECT
On the right, you can see one of our mission teams at work.
Martin, Sam and Cori, along with Xavier, Jeremy and Devon are working with Jack, Warren, Nick, Art and Jim on the Western PA Table Project.
Each person's skill in the woodshop was used to their fullest extent.
It is awesome to know that within months, a family that has gone without- will have a table to sit at in a new home. For those who lost it all in the floods of Katrina, we continue to pray.
Help us here to do all that we can do to help you.

MISSION IN ACTION
JHYGlers - look at what you accomplished this past Tuesday!
A train set built for a young man with special needs
Benches in process at Art Fuller's house
Three sets of meals delivered to families fighting illnesses
Two meals made by our meals ministry
A Christmas tree designed to raise money for shoes for orphans in Mexico
A box packed for a soldier at Thanksgiving with incredible notes
Over 100 cans of canned food collected
One on one conversations with Adam Gould to learn about Kenya
Artistic creations anonymously made to surreptitiously deliver around town
All this in one hour of time - as your gifts were exponentially increased when used for God. Thanks for your hard work and accomplishments!
In addition, note that the Meals Ministry team (working alongside Emilie Cole) has already received two thank yous:
The first from a greatgrandmother who gathered her family up for chili during a time of family crisis.
The second from a single father with many children to feed. He said, "I had no idea when I came home from a long day at work what we would eat for dinner when the babysitter pointed me to the chili in the refrigerator. It was God's gift for my day."
Keep up the good work! Peace, Lisa

WE ROCK
When you first walk into the basement of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening you might smell the dinner that the parents have cooked for us. But the one thing you will notice is everyone is warm and inviting. The college leaders are nice and have a good relationship with God. JHYG is awesome. WE ROCK.
Gettin' JHYGGY
JHYG...Junior High Youth Group of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church. What is this strange acronym all about? Well, JHYG is where all our fellow friends and peers come together in our church to hang out and learn all about God! After eating a hearty dinner, we go and usually enjoy a really fun game/games that our awesome leaders put together. After that, according to the specific day of the month,(L for Leadership, I for Invest, F for Faith, and E for Enjoying Fun) we usually break into groups to do awesome stuff. Finally, we end with and closing devotion. JHYG is awesome because we can learn about God while hanging out with friends. So, every week we look forward to Tuesday nights so we can go to JHYG! ~Emily Evans~ When your first walk into the basement of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening, you might smell the dinner that the parents have cooked for us.
